Location

Role

Project type
Honors Project -- Research Paper
Description: For my Honors contract in MHHS-M 301: Perspectives of Health, Disease and Healing, I will be researching the history of women's health, specifically reproductive health, within the past 50 years in the United States. For this project, I will read trustworthy and peer-reviewed articles (with the approval of my professor) and journals to ensure that I have accurate information and data. I will then write an 8-page paper one the research I gathered. My research question is: Have Women's Health Regressed Within the Past 50 Years? I will use the research I have gathered to come to a conclusion. As a woman, the recent overturning of Roe v Wade has completely changed my life. Women's health is often neglected, misunderstood, and taken advantage of. I want to learn more about the history of reproductive rights and maternal health within the United States because it is something that I was never taught in school. I think it will be interesting to interview my mother, who gave birth to my sister and I in Bangladesh, and my younger brother here in America. I want to see if someone from her generation has the same attitude as me when it comes to reproductive health.
